Welcome to the District 18 Website. We hope you will enjoy the experience and will visit us here often and provide feedback about how we can improve the site. We are here to help carry the message to the still sick and suffering alcoholics in the Claremont - Newport - New London area.
Statement of Purpose
The General Service Assembly of Alcoholics Anonymous (District 18) is the guardian of local services and of the Twelve Steps, Twelve Traditions and Twelve Concepts of Alcoholics Anonymous. The District shall be a services body only, never a government for Alcoholics Anonymous.
District 18 Committee Meetings
District 18 General Service Representatives (GSRs), Committee Chairs, District Officers and other interested AAs meet on the third Monday of each month from 6:15 to 7:30 pm at Assumption Hall (2nd floor) on School Street in Newport, NH. All are welcome to attend!
Group Changes
The Positive Start Group in New London now meets Monday through Friday, 7:30 - 8:30am. The Weekend Comes Early Group on Thursday night at Millie's in Newport has changed its format from a speaker meeting to a Big Book meeting. Please notify Becky B., District 18 Registrar, and the Area 43 Service Office if your group has any changes that should be made in the District or Area meeting lists.
